Hello, I'm Sally Jubb. Welcome to my website.
After spending some years working in a scientific environment, I trained as a Textile Conservator at the Textile Conservation Centre in Winchester. I have always enjoyed creating with fabric, and now I get the best of both worlds... conserving precious antique pieces, and creating my own textile art.
Part of my week is spent in professional conservation studios, working mostly on large National Trust tapestries. The rest of my time is devoted to conserving those smaller much-loved textiles that many people have in their homes (such as samplers, costumes and fashion items) which may have suffered from a variety of environmental damage. I also enjoy working on items from churches, museums, the WI... anywhere! At the moment, I'm conserving a beautiful banner from a church in Hampshire.
In my spare time (what spare time?) I create my own textile art, and am happy to consider commissions when time allows.
Depending on its condition, and the wishes of my client, a textile might be restored to as near to the original as possible, or simply conserved to stabilize its present condition, reducing the possibility of future degradation.
If you have such a textile that you would like to discuss, please feel free to get in touch for a no-obligation chat. You can email me at sally.jubb@virgin.net and I will get back to you soon.
But if you're simply interested in textiles, please explore my site.
